Resources at the Maitland Greens

From Maitland Greens

Maitland Greens are an affiliated local group of The Greens NSW, and as such, have limited resources. It is only when the vote exceeds the 4% point that costs of the candidates are reimbursed in a State election, or a sum of approximately $2.40 per vote at a Federal election.

The recent change to laws governing election donations has been a very well documented one, and The Greens will have some small benefit, compared to the major parties, who will reap the big benefits from public funding. NSW Greens is adamant that public funding is the way to go, to encourage an even spread of resources, linked to the vote for progressive and smaller parties.

There are no reimbursements for Local Government elections. Elections that Maitland Greens have contested have only recently (2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012) reached that magic mark.

We gratefully accept donations from individuals to help us resource election campaigns, as long as the donor complies with our donations policy.
